TPF-12 Pressure Drop and Flow Distribution Across T-junctions, Manifolds, and Headers

We have evaluated HTRI, HTFS, and open literature methods for pressure drop in piping components that split flow into multiple branches or combine flows into a single branch.This report provides, for single-phase flow, correlations for branch resistance coefficients and flow distribution at solitary junctions, as well as the methodology to compute flow maldistribution and pressure drop in manifolds and headers. In addition, the report discusses phase distribution and pressure drop in T-junctions and manifolds for two-phase flow.
