RB1-6 Flow-Induced Tube Vibration Tests of Full and No-Tubes-in-Window Bundles with Six Crosspasses and 30 Degree Layout with a Tube Pitch-to-Diameter
Tests were run on the Argonne test exchanger to determine the flow-induced tube vibration performance of full and no-tubes-in-window bundles with six equal span crosspasses. Both plain tubes and 19-fins/in. integral finned tubes were tested and the results compared. For this configuration, higher shellside flow rates were possible before the onset of fluidelastic instability with the finned tubes than with the plain tubes they replaced.
