Abstract:

A review of the calculated theta-s correction factor in HTRI’s Resistance Proration Method (RPM) revealed that it was too low in some cases, resulting in underprediction of the vapor-phase heat transfer coefficient for condensation of mixtures. As documented in this article, we developed a theoretical limit of theta-s based on an analytical approach to provide a more accurate prediction of the vapor-phase heat transfer coefficient for condensation of mixtures.
