Abstract:

Using HTRI Xchanger Suite, we evaluated our current method for inclined downflow condensation heat transfer in a circular tube. The ratio of the calculated-to-measured heat transfer coefficient is 0.9 on average, with standard deviations of 0.23 and 0.33 for the 30-degree and the 60-degree inclinations, respectively. To improve the accuracy of the predictions, we re-defined the flow regime parameter, adjusted the limits of the mist flow correction factor, and improved the two-phase correction factor for heat transfer and the wet-wall desuperheating method.
