CT-22 Tubeside Condensation Heat Transfer with Desuperheating - Mixtures

This report documents HTRI’s multiyear experimental and analytical study of condensation of superheated vapor mixtures inside a horizontal double-pipe condenser. Using data that we collected for n-pentane/ p-xylene with and without noncondensable gas and for a C5 – C11 hydrocarbon mixture, as well as those from literature for condensation of superheated vapor mixtures with noncondensable gases, we evaluated the current HTRI method and developed a new model for condensation with wet-wall desuperheating based on a heat and mass balance.
