HTRI e-Library Frequently Asked Questions

What security does HTRI e-Library require?

1.   Root certificates: If you receive a message stating that root certificate authority is not trusted, you must apply the Root Certificates Update from Microsoft. This update includes root certificates from Verisign, Thawte, and Post.Trust in Ireland.

2.   Cipher strength: HTRI.net uses 128-bit encryption. Check the cipher strength of Internet Explorer by clicking Help/About Internet Explorer. If the software uses a lower cipher strength, your System Administrator must apply the High Encryption package.

What do I do if an HTML page doesn't display?

You may receive a "Page cannot be displayed" error message at random while you navigate the HTRI e-Library secured website. Refresh the page (click the Refresh button or press F5) to solve this problem.

Whenever I try to open the HTRI secured website I get error messages indicating that my security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on the page. How can I get around this?

The HTRI secured website uses an ActiveX control that is required for proper operation. The default settings for Internet Explorer allow proper access.
