Project Engineer, Engineering Services
Principal Responsibilities
- Perform engineering analyses, including analyzing root case of industrial heat transfer equipment operating problems, as well as reviewing proprietary prototype heat transfer product designs
- Develop workshops, short course materials, web-based tutorials, and other training products
- Respond to technical inquiries related to HTRI software and methods; prepare technical documentation to assist members in using/interpreting HTRI technology
- Identify and solicit experimental, analytical, software development, and consulting work
- Respond to requests for contract and consulting quotations; prepare proposals
- Identify potential products to complement and leverage HTRI’s existing technology
Minimum Qualifications
- BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering and 5 years’ industrial or consulting experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (individual will be expected to obtain Texas PE license)
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written), including proven ability to write technical reports and develop/deliver formal presentations
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
Prefer candidates with experience using HTRI software. Individuals with less experience will be considered for a position as a technical support engineer.
Individual must have authorization to work in the United States.
Instrumentation Technician - Experienced
Principal Responsibilities
- Construct, operate, and maintain pilot-scale research units
- Diagnose and troubleshoot unit malfunctions
- Install, calibrate, maintain, and test instrumentation and control systems
- Set up and operate gas chromatograph and other laboratory test equipment
- Perform industrial safety, environmental, and hygiene activities to ensure regulatory compliance
Qualifications
- High school education
- Five years’ experience installing and calibrating control valves, flow meters, thermocouples, pressure/flow transmitters in a plant (chemical, petroleum, petrochemical, or power)
- At least one additional trade skill: industrial electrical installation/troubleshooting, use of machining tools, and process equipment operation/maintenance
- Working knowledge of data acquisition systems
- Proven ability to read process flow diagrams and detailed drawings of mechanical equipment
This physically demanding job requires strength, stamina, and the ability to work on multistory platforms, as well as in “close spaces.”
